Elbera’s vision is to bring the gospel to youth across Africa.

Elbera Mfura is the firstborn among five children. Her father has been bedridden for seven years due to a stroke, and her mother is the sole provider for their family. Because of this, Elbera is seeking scholarship support to participate in the Trek program, which she believes will equip her to grow as a young leader and positively impact her community.

She is applying for Trek to strengthen her leadership skills, grow spiritually, and learn how to live a life fully committed to Christ. Elbera wants to understand how to take the Gospel to others and guide youth to resist negative influences while living with purpose. She believes Trek will provide the knowledge, mentorship, and practical experience necessary to turn this vision into reality.

Elbera’s faith journey began in 2023 when she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, and since then she has grown through discipleship and service in worship at school and church. She has served in her church’s worship team and prayer ministry, as well as being vice president of her school choir. These experiences have taught her that leadership requires self-discipline, integrity, and sacrifice. Elbera is committed to using what she learns at Trek to lead others with humility, faith, and a heart for service.
