Issa envisions a society where individuals and families impacted by mental illness are supported, understood, and empowered to live full, meaningful lives.

He believes true transformation in Rwanda and Africa requires holistic care—spiritual, emotional, and practical—so that communities can thrive and every person has the opportunity to reach their potential. Issa is the Founder and President of Byuzuye Pivot Organization in Rwanda, where he provides counseling, home visits, medical support, and practical care, reflecting Christ-centered love in action.

Issa’s Christian faith has been the foundation of his calling. After converting from Islam at age 16, he committed himself to walking closely with God, learning to serve others with humility and consistency. His faith inspires him to integrate spiritual care with practical support, shaping his leadership to be compassionate, resilient, and rooted in service. From early experiences leading youth groups to his current work supporting families affected by mental illness, Issa has cultivated empathy, accountability, and the vision to empower others in every area of life.

He is applying to the Abundant Leadership Institute to further grow as a Christ-centered leader, sharpen his leadership skills, and learn from experienced mentors and peers. Issa sees ALI as a place to gain practical tools and perspectives that will multiply his impact, strengthen Byuzuye Pivot Organization, and enable him to serve his community and Africa with greater wisdom, integrity, and effectiveness.
